Flex Energy Solutions: A Green Light for Green Energy
Being green is becoming more and more trendy and for a good reason!
Over 76% of the greenhouse pollutants come from continuous carbon emissions. Because the planet is rapidly approaching an eco-catastrophe, scientists focus more on developing clean energy.
It seems that humanity has finally opened its eyes to the massive eco-catastrophe happening on a daily basis. One example of an awakened, an eco-conscious individual is Edan Prabhu.
Gas emissions and pollution were Edan Prabhu’s main focuses during his studies. With sincere admiration for the eco-world and a keen eye for science, Edan introduced gas turbine systems.
Under the name Flex Energy Solutions, Edan created a platform that will dwell on biofuels and green energy.
Flex Energy Solutions involve a modern, safer, and eco-friendly energy and heat production platform.
If you want to know more about how Edan Prabhu destroyed over 1,200,000 tons of carbon emissions, read the fascinating story of his green energy down below.
Early Beginning
Edan Prabhu, born in the early 1960s originates from India. Unfortunately, Edan spent only a little time getting to know his homeland, as his parents were always on the move.
To support the family, the parents would constantly travel, not giving Edan enough time to call any place his home. Because he would spend so much time outdoors, Edan made the world his oyster. Everywhere he went he would pay attention to detail and soak up all the nature.
Like many children, Edan too was puzzled by the changing colors of the sky. He was curious as to why the sky turned grey with smoke, with no rain coming to refresh the ground afterward.
This was the moment Edan got acquainted with the world of pollution.
Young Edan wondered why some cities were so polluted, that you could not see past the smoke. Despite him always being accompanied by someone, Edan made use of every opportunity he had alone in nature. Edan quickly fell in love with the outdoors and promised to protect it from vile pollution.
Once his family noticed Edan’s clever wits and knowledge of the outdoors, they moved to the USA in pursuit of a brighter educational future. In Michigan, Edan would continue to be fascinated by eco topics such as climate change and air pollution.
In Michigan, in 1967, Edan enrolled at Michigan University to study mechanical engineering and technology. This way Edan thought that he would contribute to any kind of invention that will somehow put a stop to harmful carbon levels.
Edan proved everyone right when he completed his college education with a Master’s degree in engineering in 1967. Edan felt confident enough to try engineering with biofuels and create new sources of clean energy and heat.
Edan dreamed of a day when the Earth’s atmosphere would be as safe as possible.
A Clean Start
Edan enjoyed his stay in the States since it really opened doors for green solutions.
Edan noticed that Americans were more interested in his green ideas, and many of them possessed great knowledge of the issues of pollution. Having a lot of competition, Edan had to fight for his spotlight to get his idea implemented.
Edan’s latest idea was manufacturing small gas turbine systems in place of heat exchangers. A new form of electricity and power that can always be utilized, without wasting money.
Edan included a business segment in his energy solutions. He believed that big businesses can last longer with his off-grid power, without additional costs.
By combining a team of expert engineers, Edan believed he would contribute to releasing cleaner and more reliable power solutions.
In 2000, Edan had formed an IR Energy Systems business. The company will work on producing new non-costly alternatives to power, such as biofuel.
Over the years, Edan focused on building a strong resume in both the business world and in the power industry. After years of combating different solutions that could eliminate additional carbon emissions, Edan launched FlexEnergy in 2008 in Irvine, California, in the United States.
Flex Energy is focused on providing alternative power solutions for great businesses to ensure maximum manufacturing quality and safety.
Energized Solutions
Right after 2008, Flex Energy acquired Ingersoll Rand Energy Systems, to spread awareness of flex energy’s work. Because Flex Energy wasn’t getting the recognition it needed, Edan came up with a plan B. Enthusiastically, Evan incorporated Flex Leasing Power and Service into Flex Energy Solutions. This was to establish greater commercial access for the new flex turbines.
The flex turbines can run on any kind of fuel. From biofuel to oil, to natural gas, to pipeline, the new turbine systems can withstand it all.
During springtime of 2008, Flex Energy raised $2.8 million in Series A funding. This was another sign that the world was ready for bioenergy and green fuel.
In 2009, Flex Energy also scored a grant of $1.2 million to further its research into turbine gas and green power. Right after, Edan and Flex Energy Solutions scored another $4.5 million in a Series B funding round. This meant that the conversation concerning green energy was still fruitful, and many were interested to listen.
More businesses began to adopt the systems into their establishments. They made use of the low emission-producing turbine systems to have their warehouse lit all through the night. Without any grand costs attributed to it. This was innovative for many businesses, and Flex Energy Solutions had a very busy year.
To the Top
The early 2010s were a busy period for Edan, especially with the growing recognition the turbine systems have garnered. More businesses relied on their flex turbines for power during strenuous, overtime work. This is when Edan came to the invention of his career, the Powerstation plant.
This modular plant will produce power with only low carbon emissions. It represented a new green alternative to power, this time gifted by nature.
In January 2012, Flex Energy Solutions hit a rough patch and had to rely on debt financing to raise a necessary $1 million. However, Flex Energy Solution’s investors did not see the platform’s end any time soon. So, in 2013, Flex Energy received growth capital from ESS Funds. They invested in the zero-emissions Flex Leasing prototype.
The company went through a rocky journey just to stand among the other great biofuel companies. Over the years following its existence, Flex Energy Solutions had surpassed competitors like Dotser, Joby, Gulf Coast Environmental Systems, and many more.
Rough Patch
Edan Prabhu’s attempts at success were not always fruitful. Edan had to travel high and low and study hard to accomplish his dream of saving the environment. In the year 2019, in order to maximize the resources and market, Flex Energy Solutions included all power solutions for a greater and greener good.
The company hit a rough patch trying to stay relevant during times of greater issues, and with that, Flex Energy Solutions plans on announcing its first initial public offering at the end of 2021.
Flex Energy Solutions, Today
Flex Energy Solutions headquarters are still in Irvine, California, United States. The company plans on spreading its wings to other geographical spheres other than the States. Today, the platform runs with the help of 51-100 employees, all working tirelessly on producing new eco-friendly alternatives to power.
Over the years, Flex Energy Solutions had raised a total of $26 million in 5 different rounds. Their latest funding happened in 2014, coming from a private equity round. Flex Energy had garnered 2 valuable investors like Sail Capital Partners LLC and Intervale Capital, who believed in its capabilities.
Some of Flex Energy Solutions’ future plans include newer flex prototypes and pipe technology.
The company struggles to maintain its relevance, especially during the pandemic. Because of the IPO, Flex Energy Solutions hopes to get the green light of approval and restart their turbine systems again.
With the continuous development and the build-up of the flex turbine systems, carbon emissions and greenhouse pollution will be less likely things to worry about in the future.
Thanks to Flex Energy Solution, we can prepare for a greener, safer and healthier future environment. If plants can now grant power, imagine what the future of biofuels holds…
