Fresh Vine Wine: Great Wines Tell a Story

FreshVineWine

Is there anyone who doesn't enjoy sharing fantastic life stories over a glass of crisp, delicious wine? If there is, they are not many, and they’re missing out, right?

Wines have been part of our lives for many years. In today’s culture, we all want to enjoy delicious, fresh wine, but we also want to live a healthy and active life.

This is a story of how Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough shared their first glass of wine and came up with the idea to create Fresh Vine Wine, the winery.

What’s different about Fresh Vine Wine is that it’s designed in a way for people to enjoy their glass of wine without feeling guilty. Nina and Julliane chose to develop a product that speaks for itself. Stick around and see how an idea turned into reality for two enthusiastic ladies.

A Whiff of Success to Come

Nina Dobrev is a famous Canadian actress and a thirty-two years old daughter of Kamen Dobrev and Michaela Dobreva. She was born on January 9, 1989, in Sofia, Bulgaria. When Nina was only two years old, she and her parents immigrated to Canada.

She started to study sociology at Ryerson University in Toronto, the city she was raised in, but she decided to drop out in 2008. Nina found her passion in acting and decided to chase after her dreams of becoming a star on the silver screen.

It wasn’t long before Nina got noticed in the star-studded sky of actors, and began landing roles for many movies. Besides being a talented actress, Nina is also a great dancer - she won season 4 of Dancing with the Stars, making her the youngest professional dancer to win the show.

Becoming a part of the ensemble of young and successful actors, Nina began living her best life, enjoying a glass of wine with fellow actors, daydreaming about her own winery.

Lucky for Nina, Julianne Hough, her best friend, was daydreaming the same vision.

Building the Brand, One Grape at a Time

These two girls met at a time when they were both going through difficult periods in their lives.

Rianna Capri, a friend, and hairdresser to both Nina and Julianne was the glue that brought the two girls together. A beautiful friendship was born thanks to an insightful hairdresser that introduced Nina to Julianne.

Nina, the famous star from “Vampire Diaries” and Julianne, a dancer and songwriter, both lead a healthy and active life.

As the ladies became friends, they discovered that both of them appreciated a fine glass of wine once in a while. They spent some time researching how to make a product that will reflect their true personality and who they really are. Trying to mix pleasure and health, Nina and Julianne pondered on the idea of creating a low-carb, low-calorie wine to be enjoyed by everyone, guilt-free.

Partnering with Jamey Whetstone, known for establishing "Turley Wine Cellars", Nina and Julianne got the helping hand they needed to improve the quality and structure of the wines. Their goal was to create low-calorie wine that won’t meddle with people’s determination to lead a healthy and balanced life.

Moments before announcing their company to the public, Nina and Julianne thought about remaining anonymous to get real impressions from people about their product. However, they felt way too proud of what they had achieved, so they decided not to hide from the public and share the product of their long-lasting friendship.

Fresh Vine Wine - Sip, Savor and Repeat

The Fresh Vine Wine brand is a collection of low-calorie wines, that are low carb and gluten-free.

Cameron Diaz followed the footsteps of Nina and Julianne’s Fresh Vine Wine, creating the clean wine label Avaline in 2020.

When Nina and Julianne put their names on the label, the public seemed to be very excited about when the marketed products will be released. Partnered up with Napa Valley winemaker Jamey Whetstone on the 2018 and 2019 varietals, this brand made four varieties of wine. The first bottles of wine were released on March 22 in 2020.

The brand currently offers a chardonnay, a pinot noir, and a cabernet sauvignon. Then, a rose varietal was launched on July 31, 2020, representing a fresh wine in time for the rose season. The wines are produced and bottled in Napa, California.

Fresh Vine Wine uses a natural winemaking process with high and low fermentable sugar grapes that are hand-picked from California. The wines are also certified by ETS Laboratories, an independent beverage analysis company, to ensure their quality. The brand is using a proprietary farming and fermentation process paired with traditional winemaking practices from vineyard to cellar.

Nina and Julianne paid close attention to the exact intake of every gram of sugar, carb, and calorie that goes into each varietal. Interestingly enough, the final preparations for the opening of Nina and Julianne’s company were made through Zoom meetings, because of the global pandemic.

Thank the wine gods, Nina and Julliane did not give up on their dreams and went through this together.

Contouring the Financials

According to a market research report in 2020, the wine industry was estimated at $327 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach $434 billion by 2027.

Since the founding of the Fresh Vine Wine brand in 2019, Damian Novak, the Executive Chairman and one of the later associates, advanced funds when needed to meet the needs, requirements, and costs of the working capital of the company.

In November and January 2020, the company was going well and they sold around 40.000 – 50.000 Class W Units representing membership interests in the company to an investor for $ 5.00 per unit, for gross proceeds of $ 200,000 - 250,000.

Between April and September 2021, Fresh Vine Wine sold an aggregate of 60,388 Class W Units representing membership interests in the Company to investors for $34.94 per unit, for gross proceeds of over $2M.

Fresh Vine Wine raised $22 million by offering 2.2 million shares at $10, the top of the price range of $9 to $10.

Fresh Vine Wines has quickly earned awareness and a dedicated national consumer base since its launch in 2019. The brand took another step ahead when it went public on the New York Stock Exchange.

Since Fresh Vine Wine stirred the sweet waters of the wine industry, the company had to withstand the competition co ing from companies like E&J Gallo, Trinchero, and Jackson Family Wines, among others.

Fresh Wine Vine Today

Today, the Fresh Vine Wine brand co-owned by Nina Dobrev and Julianne Hough is still active and expects to introduce a limited Reserve Napa Cabernet Sauvignon in 2022.

Headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, the company runs with the help of fewer than 10 employees, all working towards delivering the cleanest, richest wine, free of carbs.

Backed by celebrities, we’re sure the Fresh Vine Wine story will stay as fresh for many years to come. Cheers!
